Elections

On the first tuesday in November, either Barack Obama or John McCain will become president of the U.S. Barack Obama, the senator of Illinois, is the first African American presidential nominee to be nominated by a major political party. He is very qualified, just like his opponent John McCain. John McCain is a senator from Arizona. Recently McCain appointed his vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. Palin is the governor of Alaska.

For me, Obama is the candidate of choice even though he has been acting just like McCain recently. The two candidates have been acting very poorly and bashing one another and their vice presidential nominees. This behavior is unacceptable, and won't be helping us solve all of the problems that we have in the United States.

The thing about McCain is his age. He is currently 72 and would be 76 after one term of office. His age wouldn't bother me if it didn't mean that his health could become an issue at any time and if he would fall too ill to carry out his duties as president, then Palin would have to carry out his duties. I'm just not a big fan of Palin, so that could be one of the contributing factors to why Obama is the clear choice for me.
